Shooting is subject to legal regulations under the Firearms Acts and these control all the activities of shooting clubs and their members, whether established shooters or beginners. New members are accepted on probation for six months and are closely supervised until the instructor is satisfied that they can shoot confidently and safely. As with most sports, young shooters learn quickly and develop skills fastest. We have young members who were shooting better than most of their seniors within a year of taking their first shots.
If you are interested in trying this sport or are an experienced shooter looking for a club in our area please contact us using the number on the Stockport Council web page. We may accept young people aged 16-18 but they would have to be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian when on club premises.
Club meetings are held on Mondays and Fridays between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Extra training sessions for beginners may be organised before regular club meetings.
